920 — Abū Alī al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn Shuba al-Ansārī informed us. He said: Ahmad ibn Budayl al-Yāmī narrated to us. He said: Ibn Fudayl narrated to us. He said: Atā ibn al-Sāib narrated to us, from Awn ibn Abd Allah ibn Utba, from Abū Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:
“Paradise and Hell disputed with one another. Hell said, ‘Why is it that the arrogant and the wealthy enter me?’ Paradise said, ‘Why is it that none but the weak and the destitute enter me?’ Allah, Mighty and Majestic, then said to Paradise, ‘You are My mercy; I admit into you whomever I will.’ He said to Hell, ‘You are My punishment; through you I punish whomever I will. I shall fill both of you.’”
