909 — Abū al-Fadl Jafar ibn Muhammad al-Sandalī narrated to us. He said: Zuhayr ⦗1341⦘ ibn Muhammad al-Marwazī narrated to us. He said: al-Muammal ibn al-Fadl and Muhammad ibn Saīd al-Asbahānī narrated to us. They said: al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us. He said: I heard Abd al-Rahmān ibn Yazīd ibn Jābir say: Busr ibn Ubayd Allah al-Hadramī narrated to me that he heard Abū Idrīs al-Khawlānī say: I heard al-Nawwās ibn Samān say: I heard the Messenger of Allah—may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him—say:

“The Scale is in the Hand of the Most Merciful, Glorious and Exalted. He raises some peoples and lowers others until the Day of Resurrection.”

Ibn al-Asbahānī’s version reads: “And the Scale is in the Hand of the Lord of the worlds.”

Muhammad ibn al-Husayn—may Allah Most High have mercy on him—said: It has also been narrated that the Prophet—may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him—said:

“I saw myself enter Paradise. One pan ⦗1342⦘ of a scale was brought, and I was placed in it. Then my nation was brought and placed in the other pan, and I outweighed my nation.”

He then mentioned the rest of the hadith. We therefore seek refuge in Allah from those who deny the Scale.
