888 — Umar ibn Ayyūb al-Saqatī also narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Yazīd, the brother of Karkhawayh, narrated to us, saying: Wahb ibn Jarīr informed us, saying: Hishām narrated to us, from Qatāda, ⦗1322⦘ from Abd al-Rahmān ibn Ādam, from Abū Hurayra, from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), who said:

“The prophets have different mothers, but their religion is one. I am the person closest to Jesus son of Mary, for there was no prophet between him and me. He will indeed descend. When you see him, recognize him: he will be a man of medium stature with a fair, ruddy complexion. His head will appear to be dripping, though no moisture has touched it. He will smash the cross, kill swine, abolish the jizya, cause wealth to overflow, and fight people for Islam, until Allah, Mighty and Majestic, destroys under his rule every religion other than Islam, and until Allah, Mighty and Majestic, destroys under his rule the Messiah of misguidance—the one-eyed liar. Safety will prevail throughout the earth, until the lion grazes alongside camels, the leopard alongside cattle, and wolves alongside sheep, while children play with snakes, none of them harming another. He will remain for forty years; then ⦗1323⦘ he (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) will pass away, and the Muslims will perform the funeral prayer over him.”
