882 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwud narrated to us. He said: Yahyā ibn Uthmān narrated to us ⦗1312⦘. He said: Damra—that is, Ibn Rabīa—narrated to us. He said: al-Saybānī—that is, Abū Amr—narrated to us, from Amr ibn Abd Allah al-Hadramī, from Abū Umāma, who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—addressed us, and toward the end of his sermon he spoke to us about the Antichrist and warned us against him. Among his words—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—were:

“O people, there has never been any trial on the face of the earth greater than the trial of the Antichrist. Allah—Mighty and Majestic—never sent a prophet who did not warn his nation against him. I am the last of the prophets, and you are the last of the nations. He will inevitably emerge among you. If he emerges while I am among you, I shall ⦗1313⦘ contend with him on behalf of every Muslim. If he emerges after me, each person must contend with him on his own behalf, and Allah shall be my guardian over every Muslim.”
