53 – Al-Ḥusayn narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Abū ʿAbd Allah Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr ibn Sulaymān narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allah ibn Idrīs ⦗80⦘ narrated to us, saying: Rabīʿah ibn ʿUthmān al-Madīnī informed us, from Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā ibn Ḥabbān, from al-Aʿraj, from Abū Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah—than the weak believer, yet there is goodness in both. Be keen on what benefits you, seek Allah’s help, and do not grow helpless. If something befalls you, do not say, ‘If only I had done such-and-such,’ but rather say, ‘Allah has decreed, and whatever He wills, He does,’ for ‘if only’ opens the door to Satan’s work.”
