50 – Al-Ḥusayn narrated to us; he said: ʿAbdullāh narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn Yaḥyā told me; he said: ʿUthmān ibn ʿUmārah told me, from ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Zayd, who said:
We set out—I, Farqad al-Sabakhī, Muḥammad ibn Wāsiʿ, and Mālik ibn Dīnār—to visit a brother of ours from Persia. After we had passed Rāmhormoz, we suddenly heard a cry at the foot of a mountain, so we ran toward it. There we found a man afflicted with leprosy, his body split open and oozing pus and blood. One of us said to him, “Good man, if only you would go into that town and seek treatment and medicine for this.” He raised his eyes to the sky and said, “My Lord, You have brought these people here to make me resentful toward You. To You belong all honor and the right of pardon, and I will never oppose You—ever.”
