47 – al-Ḥusayn narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Abu Saʿīd al-Madīnī narrated to us; he said: Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Uways narrated to us; he said: Mālik informed me that news had reached him that Abu al-Dardāʾ entered upon a man who was on the point of death while praising Allah. Abu al-Dardāʾ said, “You have done well, for when Allah decrees a matter He loves that His servant be pleased with it.”
