- Al-Ḥusayn narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Idrīs narrated to us; he said: ʿAmr ibn Aslam narrated to us; he said: I heard Abū Muʿāwiyah al-Aswad, commenting on the Almighty’s words, “So We shall most surely grant him a goodly life” (16:97), say: “It means contentment and sufficiency.”
٧١ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ قَالَ: حَدّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَسْلَمَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مُعَاوِيَةَ الْأَسْوَدَ، فِي قَوْلِهِ ﷿ ﴿فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُ حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً﴾ [النحل: ٩٧] قَالَ: «الرِّضَا وَالْقَنَاعَةُ»
