6 – Al-Ḥusayn narrated to us; he said: ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us; he said: Dāwūd ibn Rushayd narrated to us; he said: al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us, from Sa‘īd ibn ‘Abd al-‘Azīz, from Ismā‘īl ibn ‘Ubayd Allāh, from Abū Muslim, who said:

“I came in to see Abū al-Dardā’ on the very day he passed away. With the household I was held in such esteem as though I were one of them. I began to pronounce the takbīr (saying ‘Allāhu akbar’), whereupon Abū al-Dardā’ said, ‘Yes—keep saying it just like that, for when Allah, exalted is He, decrees a matter, He loves for people to be content with it.’”
