71 – ʿAli ibn al-Hasan narrated to me, on the authority of Muḥammad ibn Salām al-Jumaḥī, who reported that Yūsuf ibn Ḥabīb said:
“A Muslim once got into a heated quarrel with a Magian and began hurling crude insults at him. The Magian replied, ‘A truly forbearing person shortens his tongue whenever he remembers that worms will one day tunnel through his flesh.’ By Allah, those words moved everyone present to tears.”
