Al-HilmIbn Abi al-Dunya

60 – ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ṣāliḥ narrated to us; Abū Usāmah transmitted from Khālid ibn Dīnār, who said: I heard Muʿāwiyah ibn Qurrah say that Abū al-Dardāʾ declared:

“Goodness is not measured by how much wealth and how many children you possess. True goodness is that your forbearance grows, your knowledge multiplies, and that you summon people to the worship of Allah. When you do something well, you praise Allah, and when you fall short, you seek His forgiveness.”
