57 – Hārūn ibn Abī Yaḥyā narrated to us; Hishām ibn Muḥammad informed me; from an elder of the Azd; from Mujāhid; from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said:
“Forbearance is one of the qualities that win Allah’s approval, and it grants its possessor honor both in this world and in the Hereafter. Have you not heard that Allah, Exalted be He, described His close friend with this trait, saying: ‘Indeed, Abraham was forbearing, tender-hearted, ever returning (to Allah)’ (Hūd 11:75).”
