55 – Yaʿqūb ibn ʿUbayd narrated to us; Hishām ibn ʿAmmār transmitted it; Ḥammād ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Kalbī transmitted it; Ismāʿīl ibn Ibrāhīm al-Anṣārī—on the authority of ʿAṭāʾ ibn Abī Rabāḥ, from Ibn ʿAbbās—reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “There are three qualities; whoever lacks all of them should attach no importance to any of his deeds: (1) godfearingness that holds him back from disobeying Allah, (2) forbearance by which he restrains the foolish, and (3) good character that enables him to live harmoniously among people.”
