53 – Ibrāhīm ibn Saʿīd narrated to me; Mūsā ibn Ayyūb related it to us, from Ḍamrah, from Thawr, from Khālid ibn Ma‘dān, who traced it back to the Prophet:
“Whoever sets out for this Sacred House and lacks three qualities—patient forbearance that restrains his own ignorance, scrupulous piety that holds him back from what Allah has forbidden, and gracious companionship toward those who travel with him—then Allah has no need of his pilgrimage.”
