35 – Al-ʿAbbās ibn Hishām ibn Muḥammad related to me from his father, who said: ʿUyaynah ibn Ḥiṣn remarked, “I would not trade the share of humiliation that comes my way for a herd of prized red camels.” He was asked, “How so?” He replied, “I hear a word I dislike, yet I bear it patiently, deeming it nobler than to retort and have the insult hurled back at me.”
