Muhammad ibn Qudamah narrated to me; he said, “I heard Sufyan ibn ʿUyaynah say: Among the supplications of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was: ‘O Allah, enrich me with knowledge, adorn me with forbearance, honor me with taqwā (God-conscious piety), and beautify me with well-being.’”
