Abu Bakr narrated to us; Abu Ishaq narrated to us; Ismaʿil ibn Mujalid, from ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr, from Rajaʾ ibn Haywah, from Abu Hurayrah, said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, “Knowledge is acquired only through learning, and forbearance through consciously cultivating forbearance. Whoever strives for goodness will be granted it, and whoever guards himself against evil will be kept safe from it.”
