101 – ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Salih related to us; Abu Bakr ibn ʿAbbas narrated from al-Kalbi, who said: “In the Jahiliyyah, people did not attain eminence by means of wealth or valor, but through forbearance and generosity.”
