82 – A man from Quraysh recited to me some lines composed by a client of the Banu Hashim:

A heedless fellow, seeing how near my forbearance lay,
pressed on and spent himself in all he could display.
I knew no skill except forbearance—nor was that gift his alone;
so I offered what was mine, and he returned what he had of his own.
