Al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan and ‘Utbah ibn ‘Abdullāh narrated to us, saying: Ibn al-Mubārak narrated to us, saying: ‘Ubaydullāh ibn ‘Umar narrated to us, from Sa‘īd al-Maqburī, from Abū al-Hubāb—who is Sa‘īd ibn Yasār—from Abū Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“No Muslim servant gives charity from good earnings—and Allah accepts only what is good—without Allah taking it in His right hand and nurturing it for him, just as one of you raises his foal,” or he said ⦗150⦘: “his weaned camel calf, until the date becomes as large as Mount Uhud.”
‘Utbah said: “his young she-camel or his weaned camel calf.” I did not accurately retain the words “as large as Mount Uhud” from ‘Utbah.
