Yahyā ibn Habīb al-Hārithī narrated to us, saying: Khālid ibn Kurayb—that is, Ibn al-Hārith—narrated to us from Muhammad ibn ʿAjlān. Muhammad ibn al-ʿAlā ibn Kurayb and ʿAbd Allāh ibn Saʿīd al-Ashajj also narrated to us, saying: Abū Khālid narrated to us from Ibn ʿAjlān, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“When Allah created creation, He wrote with His own hand, as a commitment upon Himself: ‘My mercy prevails over My wrath.’”
