Chapter: Affirming a Hand for the Creator, the Originator, Glorious and Exalted, and Explaining That Allah Most High Has Two Hands
As He has informed us in His clear revelation, He created Adam, peace be upon him, with His two hands. He, Mighty and Majestic, said to Iblīs:
“What prevented you from prostrating to what I created with My two hands?” [Sād: 75]
And He, Glorious and Exalted, refuted the Jews when they said:
“Allah’s hand is shackled.” [Al-Mā’idah: 64]
He declared their statement false and said:
“Rather, both His hands are outstretched; He spends however He wills.” [Al-Mā’idah: 64]
He has informed us that the entire earth will be in His grasp on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right hand, and that:
“Allah’s hand is above their hands.” [Al-Fath: 10]
And He said:
“So glory be to Him in whose hand is the dominion of all things, and to Him you will be returned.” [Yā Sīn: 83]
And He said:
“You honour whom You will and humble whom You will. In Your hand is all good. Indeed, You have power over all things.” [Āl ʿImrān: 26]
And He said:
“Do they not see that We have created for them livestock from what Our hands have made?” [Yā Sīn: 71]
