hear their secrets and their private conversations?” [Al-Zukhruf: 80]—the verse.

Our Lord, the Creator, the Maker, has informed us that He hears the words of those who lie about Allah and claim that Allah is poor. Allah declared their statement false and refuted it, telling them that He is Self-Sufficient and they are the needy. He informed His believing servants that He is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.

Likewise, He informed the believers that He had heard the words of the woman who pleaded and the exchange between her and the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. The truthful woman, daughter of the truthful man, may Allah be pleased with them both, reported that she could not hear some of the pleading woman’s words, despite being near her. She therefore glorified her Creator, whose hearing encompasses all voices, saying:

“Glory be to Him whose hearing encompasses all voices!”

Thus Allah, Majestic and Exalted, heard the words of the woman who pleaded while He was above the seven heavens, risen over His Throne, although some of her words went unheard by someone who was present and close to her.

And He, Mighty and Majestic, said to Moses, to whom He spoke, and his brother Aaron, his mother’s son, reassuring them of safety from Pharaoh when they feared that he might hasten to harm them or transgress:

“Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see.” [Tā Hā: 46]

The Most Merciful, Majestic and Exalted, thus made known that He heard the words addressed to Pharaoh by Moses, to whom He spoke, and his brother Aaron, peace be upon them both, and Pharaoh’s replies to them. He also made known that He sees whatever each of them does. And He, Majestic and Exalted, said
