Muhammad ibn Rāfi‘ narrated to us, saying: Yahyā ibn Ādam narrated to us, saying: Sharīk narrated to us, from Abū Ishāq, from Abū al-Ahwas, from ‘Abd Allāh, who said:

“When a woman puts on her clothes and goes out, she is asked, ‘Where are you going?’ She replies, ‘To visit someone who is ill, to offer the funeral prayer, or to pray in a mosque.’ She is then asked, ‘What do you seek by doing so?’ She replies, ‘The Face of Allah.’ By Him besides whom there is no deity, a woman does not seek the Face of Allah through anything better than remaining in her home and worshipping her Lord.”

Abū Bakr said: This is an extensive subject. If all the reports of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, mentioning the Face of our Lord, majestic and exalted, were collected in this book, it would become lengthy. We have already presented the reports concerning each of these attributes in their appropriate places in our compiled works.
