Kitab at-Tawhid - Ibn Khuzaima - (1/24)

Chapter on Affirming the Face of Allah, Which He Described as Possessing Majesty and Honor in His Words:

“And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.”
[al-Rahmān: 27]

He also declared that His Face would not perish when Allah causes to perish those of His creatures for which He has decreed destruction—those He created to pass away, not to endure. Exalted is our Lord above the perishing of anything of Him that belongs to the attributes of His Essence.

Allah, Majestic and Exalted, said:

“And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.”
[al-Rahmān: 27]

And He said:

“Everything will perish except His Face.”
[al-Qasas: 88]

And He said to His Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace:

“And patiently keep company with those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face.”

بَابُ ذِكْرِ إِثْبَاتِ وَجْهِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي وَصَفَهُ بِالْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: {وَيَبْقَى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ} [الرحمن: ٢٧] ، وَنَفَى عَنْهُ الْهَلَاكَ إِذَا أَهْلَكَ اللَّهُ مَا قَدْ قَضَى عَلَيْهِ الْهَلَاكُ مِمَّا قَدْ خَلَقَهُ اللَّهُ لِلْفَنَاءِ لَا لِلْبَقَاءِ، جَلَّ رَبُّنَا، عَنْ أَنْ يَهْلِكَ شَيْءٌ مِنْهُ مِمَّا هُوَ مِنْ صِفَاتِ ذَاتِهِ، قَالَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا: {وَيَبْقَى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ} [الرحمن: ٢٧] ، وَقَالَ: {كُلُّ شَيْءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجْهَهُ} [القصص: ٨٨] وَقَالَ لِنَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: {وَاصْبِرْ نَفْسَكَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُ} [الكهف
