Yūnus ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā narrated to us, saying: Ibn Wahb narrated to us, saying: Hishām—that is, Ibn Saʿd—informed us, from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Miqsam, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar, who said:

“I saw the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, on the pulpit, reciting:

‘The earth entirely will be within His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right hand.’ [Al-Zumar: 67]

Then he would say, ‘I am Allah, I am the Most Merciful, I am the Compeller. Where are the arrogant?’—until I feared that the pulpit would collapse beneath him.”

This is how Yūnus narrated it to us, with no one between Hishām ibn Saʿd and ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Miqsam.
