Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad al-Zaʿfarānī narrated to us, saying: Saʿīd ibn Mansūr narrated to us, saying: Yaʿqūb narrated to us, from Abū Hāzim, from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Miqsam, who watched ʿAbd Allāh ⦗173⦘ ibn ʿUmar demonstrate how the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had acted. He said:

“The Lord, majestic and exalted, takes His heavens and His earths with His two hands”—and he began closing and opening his hands—“Allah says, ‘I am the Most Merciful.’ Eventually I saw the pulpit shaking from its very base, so much so that I found myself saying, ‘Is it going to fall with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, on it?’”
