Muhammad ibn Yahyā and ʿAbd al-Rahmān ibn Bishr narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us, saying: Maʿmar informed us, from Hammām ibn Munabbih, who said: “This is what Abū Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated to us.” He then related several reports from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“Allah’s right hand is full; no expenditure diminishes it, and it pours forth gifts night and day. Have you considered all that He has spent since He created the heavens and the earth? It has not diminished what is in His right hand.”
⦗163⦘ He said: “His Throne is upon the water, and with His other right hand He withholds; He raises and lowers.”
This is the wording of ʿAbd al-Rahmān’s narration. In his narration, Muhammad ibn Yahyā said: “Allah’s right hand is full; no expenditure diminishes it, and it pours forth gifts throughout the night and day.” He also said: “It has not reduced what is in His right hand. His Throne is upon the water, and with His other hand He withholds.”
