Chapter on affirming knowledge for Allah, majestic and exalted is He, blessed are His names and exalted is His praise, through the revelation sent down to the chosen Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. This revelation is recited in prayer niches and Quran schools and belongs to knowledge shared by all, rather than to transmitted reports belonging to the knowledge of specialists. This refutes the Jahmiyyah, who deny Allah’s attributes, do not believe in Allah’s Book, and distort words from their proper places in imitation of the Jews. They deny that Allah has scholars, claiming to say that Allah is the Knower while denying that He possesses knowledge as an attribute of His essence.

Allah, majestic and exalted is He, says in His clear revelation:

“But Allah bears witness to what has been revealed to you; He sent it down with His knowledge.”
[al-Nisā’: 166]

And He, mighty and majestic is He, says:

“And if they do not respond to you, then know that it was sent down with Allah’s knowledge.”
[Hūd: 14]

Allah has thus informed us that He sent down the Quran with His knowledge. He, exalted is His praise, has also told us that no female conceives or gives birth except with His knowledge. Allah, majestic and exalted is He, has therefore ascribed knowledge to Himself, telling us that He sent down the Quran with His knowledge and that no female conceives or gives birth except with His knowledge. Yet the Jahmiyyah have disbelieved and denied that our Creator possesses knowledge as an attribute of His essence. Far exalted is Allah above what those who impugn His knowledge say.
