Kitab at-TawhidIbn Khuzaima

Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad narrated to us, saying: ‘Abīdah ibn Humayd narrated to us, saying: Abū al-Za‘rā’, who is ‘Amr ibn ‘Amr, narrated to me, from Abū al-Ahwas, from his father, Mālik ibn Nadlah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“There are three hands: Allah’s hand is the highest, the giver’s hand comes next, and the hand of the one who asks is the lowest. So give what you have to spare, and do not fail to look after yourself.”

⦗159⦘ Abū Bakr said: This Abū al-Za‘rā’ is ‘Amr ibn ‘Amr, the nephew of Abū al-Ahwas. As for the elder Abū al-Za‘rā’, who narrated from Ibn Mas‘ūd, his name is ‘Abdullāh ibn Hāni’.
