And Abū Mūsā narrated to us, saying: Yahyā ibn Sa‘īd narrated to us. Muhammad ibn Rāfi‘ narrated to us, saying: al-Nadr ibn Shumayl narrated to us. Ahmad ibn Sa‘īd al-Dārimī narrated to us, saying: Abū ⦗153⦘ ‘Āsim narrated to us—all of them reporting from ‘Awf.

Abū Hāshim Ziyād ibn Ayyūb narrated to us, saying: Abū Sufyān—that is, al-Himyarī, Sa‘īd ibn Yahyā al-Wāsitī—narrated to us, saying: ‘Awf narrated to us, from Qasāmah ibn Zuhayr, from Abū Mūsā, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“Indeed, Allah created Adam from a handful that He took from all parts of the earth. Thus, Adam’s descendants came to reflect the earth’s diversity: among them are the white, the black, and those in between; the easygoing, the difficult, and the wicked.”

This is the narration of Abū Hishām. The narrations of Abū Rāfi‘ and Abū Mūsā are the same, except that both added “the red and the good.” Abū Mūsā also added at the end, “and those in between.”

Al-Dārimī’s wording was: “From all parts of the earth. Among them came the easygoing and the difficult, the wicked and the good, the red and the black.”

Abū Mūsā said: He said, “Qasāmah ibn Zuhayr narrated to me.”
