Al-Awliya' - Ibn Abi al-Dunya - (23)

45 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Abu Khaythamah transmitted; Ismaʿil ibn ʿUmar; ʿAbd al-Wahid, the freedman of ʿUrwah ibn al-Zubayr—whose kunya was Abu Humrah—reported that ʿUrwah ibn al-Zubayr related from ʿAishah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“Allah says: ‘Whoever shows enmity to a friend of Mine has made lawful what I have forbidden. No believing servant draws nearer to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the fulfillment of the obligations I have prescribed; and My servant continues to draw near to Me through supererogatory deeds until I love him. When I love him, I become the eye with which he sees, the hand with which he strikes, the foot with which he walks, the heart with which he understands, and the tongue with which he speaks. If he calls upon Me, I answer him, and if he asks of Me, I grant him. I have never hesitated over anything I intend to do as I hesitate over taking his life: he dislikes death, and I dislike to grieve him.’”

٤٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، نا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، نا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ مَوْلَى عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ وَكُنْيَتُهُ أَبُو حُمْرَةَ، ذَكَرَ عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: " قَالَ اللَّهُ: مَنْ آذَى لِي وَلِيًّا فَقَدِ اسْتَحَلَّ مَحَارِمِي، وَمَا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيَّ عَبْدِي المُؤمِن بِمِثْلِ أَدَاءِ فَرَائِضِي، وَإِنَّ عَبْدِي لَيَتَقَرَّبُ إِلَيَّ بِالنَّوافِلِ حَتَّى أُحِبَّهُ، فَإِذَا أَحْبَبْتُهُ كُنْتُ عَيْنَهُ الَّتِي يُبْصِرُ بِهَا، وَيَدَهُ الَّتِي يَبْطُشُ بِهَا، وَرِجْلَهُ الَّتِي يَمْشِي بِهَا، وَفُؤَادَهُ الَّذِي يَعْقِلُ بِهِ، وَلِسَانَهُ الَّذِي يَتَكَلَّمُ بِهِ، إِنْ دَعَانِي أَجَبْتُهُ، وَإِنْ سَأَلَنِي أَعْطَيْتُهُ، وَمَا تَرَدَّدْتُ فِي شَيْءٍ أَنَا فَاعِلُهُ تَرَدُّدِي عَنْ مَوْتِهِ؛ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ يَكْرَهُ الْمَوْتَ، وَأَنَا أَكْرَهُ مُسَاءَتَهُ "
