- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn Shaqīq narrated, saying, “I heard my father relate that ʿAbd Allah transmitted from Maʿmar, from Khallād ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from his father, from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, ‘Shall I tell you who among you is most beloved to Allah?’ They replied, ‘Yes indeed, O Messenger of Allah,’ and we assumed he would name a particular man. He said, ‘The most beloved of you to Allah is the one who is most beloved to people.’ He then said, ‘Shall I inform you who among you is most detested by Allah?’ We said, ‘Yes, O Messenger of Allah,’ thinking he would single someone out. He said, ‘The most detested of you to Allah is the one who is most detested by people.’”
٣٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ: أنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ خَلَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِأَحَبِّكُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ؟» قَالُوا: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ يُسَمِّي رَجُلًا، قَالَ: «إِنَّ أَحَبَّكُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ أَحَبُّكُمْ إِلَى النَّاسِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ: «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِأَبْغَضِكُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ؟» قُلْنَا: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ يُسَمِّي رَجُلًا، فَقَالَ: «أَبْغَضَكُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ أَبْغَضَكُمْ إِلَى النَّاسِ»
