29 – ‘Abd Allah narrated to us; Ishaq ibn Isma‘il narrated to us; Jarir narrated to us, from ‘Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, from Abu ‘Abd Allah al-Jadali, who said: Allah said, “O David, love Me, love those who love Me, and make Me beloved to the people.” He replied, “My Lord, I do love You, and I love those who love You—but how shall I make You beloved to the people?” He said, “Remind them of My favors, so that they will mention nothing of Me but good.”
