- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Ahmad ibn Ibrahim reported to us; Abu Muʿawiya al-Ghallani transmitted: “It reached me that a group once followed al-Naḍr ibn Kathir after the night prayer, intending to press right up against the back of his cloak. They later said, ‘Whenever we came close to him, a barrier rose between us and him so that we could no longer see him. When we witnessed that, we turned back and left him alone.’”
١١٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، نا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ الْغَلَّانِيُّ، قَالَ: بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ قَوْمًا تَبِعُوا النَّضْرَ بْنَ كَثِيرٍ يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يَسْتَقْفُوا ثِيَابَهُ بَعْدَ الْعَتَمَةِ قَالَ: فَقَالُوا: «كُنَّا إِذَا دَنَوْنَا مِنْهُ صَارَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُ سَدٌّ حَتَّى لَا نَرَاهُ، فَلَمَّا رَأَيْنَا ذَلِكَ رَجَعْنَا وَتَرَكْنَاهُ»
