- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Abū al-Sukayn al-Taʾī reported; Muḥammad ibn ʿUmar ibn Muḥammad ibn Aslam ibn ʿUmayr ibn Muslim conveyed from ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Zayd, who said:
“I once set out toward the outskirts of al-Khurayba and came upon a black man afflicted with leprosy. The disease had eaten away every limb, robbed him of his sight, and left him unable to walk, so that he was forced to crawl. A group of children were throwing stones at him until they even struck his face. I noticed his lips moving, so I drew closer to hear what he was saying, and found him repeating:
‘My Master, even if You were to cut my flesh with shears and saw through my bones with saws, my love for You would only increase. So do with me whatever You will.’”
