- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn reported; ʿAmmar ibn ʿUthman and others transmitted from Muḍar ibn Abi Saʿid, from ʿAbd al-Wahid ibn Zayd, who said:
“I have never seen the like of some people we once encountered. We suddenly came upon a group of devoted worshippers along a stretch of the seashore; the moment they saw us, they scattered. We spent that night, having cast anchor on that island, and for most of the hours of darkness we could hear nothing but piercing cries and pleas for refuge from the Fire. When dawn broke, we set out in search of them, following their tracks, but we did not find a single one of them.”
