76 – ‘Abd Allah narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn ‘Alī narrated to us; Abū Isḥāq—meaning Ibrāhīm ibn al-Ash‘ath—narrated to us; ‘Umar ibn Hārūn, from Thawr ibn Yazīd, from Khālid ibn Maʿdān, reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Indeed, the most beloved of My servants to Me are those who love one another for My sake, who populate My mosques, and who seek forgiveness in the last hours of the night. They are the people that, when I intend to strike the inhabitants of the earth with a punishment or calamity, yet I remember them, I turn My punishment away from everyone on their account.”
