88 — Khālid ibn Khidāsh and Khalaf ibn Hishām related to us; they said: Hammād ibn Zayd related to us, from Khālid ibn Salama, who said: When news of Zayd ibn Hāritha’s death arrived, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went to Zayd’s home. One of Zayd’s daughters came out to him, and when she saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), she broke down weeping before him. The Prophet wept until he sobbed aloud. Someone asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what is this?” He replied, “This is the yearning of one beloved for another.”
