86 — Khālid ibn Khidāsh related to us: Mahdī ibn Maymūn related to us, from Ghaylān ibn Jarīr, from ‘Ubayd ibn ‘Umayr, who said:
Whenever he took someone as a brother for Allah’s sake, he would take him by the hand, turn with him toward the direction of prayer, and then say:
“O Allah, make us witnesses to what Muhammad—peace and blessings be upon him—brought, and make Muhammad—peace and blessings be upon him—a witness over us to our faith. The best reward from You has already been decreed for us, with no fetter laid upon us, our hearts not hardened, neither saying what we have no right to say nor asking about that of which we have no knowledge.”
