70 — Ahmad ibn Jamīl narrated to us: Abd Allah ibn al-Mubārak informed us, from Hammād ibn Salama, from Thābit, from Habīb ibn Dubay‘a al-Duba‘ī, that a man came to the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—and one of his Companions said, “I love him for the sake of Allah.” The Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—asked, “Have you told him?” He replied, “No.” He said, “Then go and tell him.” So he went over to him and said, “So-and-so, I love you for the sake of Allah.” The man replied, “May the One for whose sake you love me love you.”
