49 — Al-Husayn ibn Abd al-Rahmān narrated to me, from Ahmad ibn Abī al-Hawārī, who said: Yūnus al-Hadhdhā’ narrated to us, from Abū Hamza al-Shaybānī, that he was asked, “Who are brothers for Allah’s sake?” He replied:

“They are those who obey Allah—Mighty and Majestic—and help one another fulfill His commands, even if their homes and persons are far apart.”

He said, “I related this to Abū Sulaymān, and he said:

“They may obey Allah—Mighty and Majestic—and help one another fulfill His commands, yet they will not be brothers until they visit one another and give freely to one another.”
