193 — Mahdī ibn Jafar narrated to me: Damra narrated to us, from Amr ibn Abd al-Rahman, who said: “Some proceeds from Yazīd ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Marwān’s estate arrived, and he began putting the money into purses and sending them to his brothers. He said, ‘I would indeed be ashamed before Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to ask Him to grant Paradise to one of my brothers while begrudging him a dinar or a dirham.’” He added, “He used to recite the entire Quran in a single unit of prayer.”
