179 — Alī ibn al-Husayn informed me: Aswad ibn Āmir narrated to us, saying: Hibbān ibn Alī narrated to us, on the authority of al-Hasan ibn Kathīr, who said: “I complained to Muhammad ibn Alī of my need and my brothers’ coldness toward me. He replied, ‘What a wretched brother is one who looks after you when you are wealthy but cuts you off when you are poor!’ Then he instructed his servant, who brought out a purse containing seven hundred dirhams. He said, ‘Use this for your expenses, and when it runs out, let me know.’”
