175 — He said: I was told, on the authority of Abd Allah ibn al-Mubārak, on the authority of Ubayd Allah ibn al-Walīd, on the authority of Abū Jafar, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Giving one dirham to a brother of mine for Allah’s sake is dearer to me than giving ten dirhams in charity; and giving ten dirhams to a brother of mine for Allah’s sake is dearer to me than giving one hundred dirhams in charity to a poor person.”
