Al-IkhwanIbn Abi al-Dunya

125 — Surayj ibn Yūnus narrated to me, saying: Salama ibn Sālih ⦗181⦘ narrated to us, from al-Rabī ibn Sulaymān, from Uthmān ibn Atā al-Khurāsānī, from his father, from Abū Sufyān, from Tamīm al-Dārī, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about one man embracing another when he met him. He replied: “It was the greeting of the nations and a pure expression of their affection. The first person to embrace was Abraham, peace be upon him.”
