116 — Surayj ibn Yūnus narrated to us: Yahyā ibn Sulaym al-Tāifī narrated to us, from al-Rabī ibn so-and-so, a nephew of al-Barā ibn Āzib, who said: “I was informed that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, shook hands with al-Barā ibn Āzib. Al-Barā said to him, ‘We used to do this as the non-Arabs do.’ He replied, ‘When two Muslims meet and smile at one another gently and calmly, their sins fall away from between their hands.’”
