115 — Ahmad ibn Isa al-Misrī narrated to us: Bishr ibn Bakr narrated to us: al-Awzāī narrated to us: Abdah ibn Abī Lubābah narrated to me, saying: Mujāhid ibn Jabr narrated to me, saying: “When two people who love one another for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, become brothers, and one of them goes to the other, takes his hand, and smiles at him, their sins fall away just as leaves fall from a tree.” I said, “That is surely easy.” He replied, “Do not say that, for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says to His Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: ‘Had you spent all that is on earth, you could not have united their hearts, but Allah united them’ [al-Anfāl: 63]—to the end of the verse.”
