5- Ibn Abī al-Dunyā also told us: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yūnus ibn Bukayr al-Shaybānī related to me, from his father, from ʿAbd al-Ghaffār ibn al-Qāsim al-Anṣārī, from Abū Numayr al-Shaybānī, who said, ⦗25⦘

“I was present with my master at the Battle of the Camel, and never in my life have I seen a day with more arms and legs severed than that one. Whenever I pass by the residence of al-Walīd, I remember that day.”

He continued, “Al-Ḥakam ibn ʿUtaybah told me that on the Day of the Camel ʿAlī prayed, saying, ‘O Allah, seize their hands and their feet.’”
