33 – Al-Ḥusayn narrated to us; ʿAbd Allah narrated. He said: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ⦗42⦘ Ṣāliḥ narrated to us; ʿAmr ibn Hāshim narrated to us, from Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid, from ʿĀmir, who said: When ʿAli was struck that blow, he asked, “What has become of my assailant?” They replied, “We have taken him.” He said, “Give him food from what I eat and drink from what I drink. If I live, I shall decide his case; but if I die, then strike him with one blow and add nothing to it.”
